2.5 Ton Air Conditioner Units

While some rooms require a large air conditioning system, others can do with a more compact solution. An air conditioner 5 ton system is generally recommended for bigger areas, such as shopping centers and some of the larger supermarkets. With a 2.5 ton air conditioner, you get a more balanced option.

A 2.5 ton option provides only slightly less cooling power compared to an air conditioning 3 ton system but can provide a significant reduction in power usage. The coverage is ideal for rooms that are medium-sized, offering a similar range as a 3 ton ac unit package might.

A 2.5 ton air conditioner unit is able to provide coverage for an area that measures up to 1,500 square feet. It is generally advised not to opt for a 2.5 ton option when a room has a measurement lower than 1,201 square feet. These measurements will help you decide what air conditioner will provide the most appropriate fit for your building.

In cases where the building measures larger than 1,500 square feet, opting for an air conditioning 4 ton system may be needed.

Once you have decided a 2.5 ton air conditioner will be appropriate, you want to ensure the unit you buy is compatible with your existing system. It is always a good idea to get in touch with an installer before you decide which unit to buy, especially if it is going to be used in an existing AC system.

The installer is able to provide an accurate measurement of the room and consider the compatibility of your system. They can then recommend the ideal 2.5 ton air conditioner unit to buy, helping to avoid compatibility issues later on.

A common reason for opting to install a 2.5 ton AC unit is due to the lower power usage. If a room measures under 1,500 square feet, but a larger AC unit is installed, it means there will be excess power consumption. This leads to increased operating costs of the building. By switching to a smaller AC unit, the cooling effect of the air conditioner will still provide adequate coverage without a higher power bill.

The installation of a 2.5 ton unit may also be an upgrade from a previously installed air conditioning system. Your existing AC solution may not provide coverage for the interior of your building. Even a slight bump from a 2.0 ton to a 2.5 ton system could help the cooling effect reach all four corners of an office or shop.
